M91
M91 is an SBb barred-spiral galaxy in the constellation Coma Berenices. It has a prominent central bar as seen in this image. This galaxy is located at a distance of approximately 60 million light years and is a member of the Virgo Cluster. This is a 24.75-minute composite image from 99, 15-second exposures taken on 12 June 1999.
The below negative version of the same image shows the central bar and spiral arms clearly. Also labeled is a small, magnitude 17.8, galaxy known as PGC 169578.
