Crux - The Southern Cross
Crux is popularly known as the Southern Cross. It is a very prominent asterism in the southern hemisphere and is not visible from the northern latitudes.
This image was taken on 5 February 2008 from Canberra, Australia and is a composite of three 10-second images taken with a Nikon D70.
