The Sun is the star at the center of our solar system.   It is designated as spectral class G2V, a yellow dwarf because its radiation peaks at the yellow portion of the visible spectrum.   In this picture several prominent Sunspots can be seen near the upper left limb.   Another sunspot is located about halfway from the center toward the 2-o'clock position on the limb.
