M5 - Globular Cluster
M5 (NGC5904) is a globular cluster of several hundred thousand stars located within our galaxy at a distance of approximately 23,000 light years. It's located in the constellation Serpens Caput. This globular cluster is one of the oldest such clusters in our galaxy at an estimated age of 13 billion years. It's also one of the largest clusters with an estimated diameter of 130 light years.
